How to stop carpenter bees from destroying your home?

Introduction

Despite common misconceptions, carpenter bees are not wood-eaters! The female of the species is equipped with a robust set of mandibles on her head. These allow her to create vibrations against the wood grain, effectively carving out a tunnel. The presence of wood shavings, resembling sawdust around or directly beneath the tunnel, serves as a clear indicator of a carpenter bee nest.

Even if they have already established a nest, you should begin trapping them to stop further damange. Also, reducing their numbers will make nest removal safer. Arrest these infestations before they get out of control!

Carpenter bee traps

Here is trap that I have used around my home with great success. I hung them from the eaves of my roof, to stop them from building nests in my attic.

  • Exclusive VisiLure technology lures wasps, red wasps, mud daubers, and carpenter bees.
  • Once attracted, they become stuck to the sticky surface and expire.
  • Unique Glue Guards create a barrier around the sticky trap surface to reduce the chances of non-insect catches.
  • Bees can cause serious property damage. TrapStik can stop this before it starts, without the use of potentially harmful sprays or chemicals.

Near my backyward deck I also installed these more aesthetically pleasing reusable traps. I’ve used them for the past two summers with great success!

  • Mimics the natural nest of a carpenter bee.
  • Made from durable materials for all weather conditions.
  • Reusable and environmentally friendly.
  • Bees collect inside the removal mason jar. Easy to monitor your progress!
